HELP: Have You Seen These Boots?

via, thevintagevoice

Fashion emergency people, I shredded the heel of my boot the other night, totally shattered it. There is a gaping cavernous hole in the side that the little shoe elves are now seeking asylum in because they DON'T want me to get  my hands on them.  Who knew those heels weren't actually solid wood, silly me.

So my wardrobe has been thrown off kilter, half the things I bought and kept for myself I had my boots in mind.  No boots, those pieces won't work.  During the fall and winter I live in these boots and I guess after 10 years it has become evident.

I've looked all over the internet and I found them on Etsy(see above), except they weren't my size(boo!).  I've even looked for boots with a similar style and feel, not necessarily cuffed or Frye boots, but nadda.  So this is my public cry for help and an opportunity to sell their wears quickly.  Spread the word around, if you or anyone  you know has a pair of this style of boot in their inventory in a size 9 to 9.5 not yet listed let me know!  And if you want to trade or do a partial trade for things from my shop even better.

  1. Would repair work? From the sounds of it, you did a good number on them, but a good shoe repair man can usually do wonders (for a price, naturally). I'm in south Jersey and take everything of mine to Pete's shoe repair http://www.peteshoerepair.com/. I recently brought in a pair of jcrew heels circa 2000 that they madeover like new for $18. I believe new heels run around $30. I know there is a place in Haddonfield as well that I've heard does nice work, but I've never been.

  2. Hi Maggie- I'm in SJ too! I do know the place. I have nothing in my immediate area so I take shoes to a place in the Berlin Flea Market, which I think is not too far from Pete's, it is about 45 minutes away for me. I'm already planning a trip for the boots to see what can be done, but do think it's a good idea to have a back up pair to alternate with in case they can be fixed. Thanks for the suggestion!

  3. I've never bought a pair of boots (I live in a tropical country) because I'm afraid of choosing a pair that pinches. Any tips?

  4. Hi Arianne!

Maybe a round or square toe boot? Definitely ask for the measurements for the ball of the foot and allow a little extra room for easement . But really I think the best thingto do is shop for them in person first before buying online. It will help you get a better idea of what you may like and a better idea of the fit you will want to look for.

  5. just saw this, and just last week bought a pair of these size 9, and sold them within 30 seconds!...that was the quickest shortsale ever in my shop...they were frye otk from the seventies and the owner actually cried when she sold them to me because she had to say goodbye to them and their memories. James Brown, Bee Gees, and many more concerts where she had worn them. It was a bittersweet moment. But the new owner is happy! Will keep a look out for more.
